The scriptures tell us that because of our idolatry, witchcrafts and fornications the Biblical Children of Israel were punished with death and captivity. It is therefore no wonder that many of the slaves who were stolen from Africa and taken into bondage to the mainland of the Americas and the islands of the Caribbean brought with them their ancient Yoruba religions. When their English captors forced false Christianity upon them in the form of Catholicism, the Slaves cleverly allocated the persona of their Pagan Pantheon to the image of each Catholic Saint. Thus was Santeria created or “The Way of the Saints”. But the bonds of history and heritage are not easily broken and for many peoples of Afro-Caribbean descent living today, Santeria is more than a tradition or religion, it is a way of life. So is Santeria with all of its magic spells, spirits, incantations and blood sacrifices acceptable to The Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ? Or is it a legacy of shame and sin masquerading as heritage of pride and holiness. Join us today for another installment of “From Darkness to Light” as we use the words of the Holy Scriptures to illuminate the true Biblical “Way of the Saints” which leads to repentance! We air programs on Blog Talk Radio at the following times: Sun 2:00pm, Mon 8:00pm, Tue 8:00pm, Wed 7:00pm, Thu 8:00pm, Fri 7:00pm & Sat 9:00am. All times are Eastern Standard Time.
